For those of you not familiar with Canadian politics, Jack Layton was the leader of the NDP who have for the first time, I believe, become the head of the opposition party.  Recently he had to announce that he would be temporarily stepping down as he is having a second bout with cancer.  I saw photos of him when he made this announcement and I’m concerned as he looked in really rough shape.  I had never seen him so thin before.  I have my doubts whether he will be able to return in September, but I hope he is at least satisfied that he led the NDP to this next level of politics.
