A couple of things: I found a new favourite radio station, which I THINK is Canadian.  The first time I came across it they were playing nothing but reggae, and the host had the thickest, raspiest Jamaican accent ever.  I tuned into the same station a few hours later and they were playing good hip hop from some First Nations groups in their traditional language.  I never know what I’m gonna...

Oh yeah, and one other thing to add to my list of “You’re getting old when…” Only want to listen to golden oldies radio stations: Also a new check.  There’s this awesome radio station in Maui that plays some sweet 90’s and early 2000 tunes from my clubbin days.  Plus they have this host named Omar who has the best postivity ever released on soundwaves.

So yesterday was BC’s first time through the new holiday in February, which I think is called family day.  I was having a discussion with N about how it should have a better name, especially seeing as its also Black History Month.  We concluded that it would be hard to find a specific group (black, native, chinese, francophone) or famous person that the holiday could be named after without...

Example trends that, at first, I told people that if I ever adopted they should punch me in the head, but I’m glad they didn’t because eventually I succumbed: Wearing track pants outside (i.e., when not running). Wearing sweat pants outside. Wearing hats backwards but at an angle. Wearing hats completely sideways. Wearing hats forwards but at an angle (trust me, there used to be a...

Have you ever kissed someone but somehow had all this static electricity so that you gave eachother a shock on the lips?  That happened to me for the first time ever on Sunday.  Kids, don’t do it!  I can’t decide if that qualifies as a ‘worst kiss’ or as a ‘most memorable kiss’.

30 years ago... →
I’m a bit ashamed that this went by without my marking it: 30 years ago on Sept 18 1300 civilians were murdered in Chatilla, while Ariel Sharon and his troops stood outside the city, shooting flares and watching them die.  I’m not sure if this adds anymore to the farce of “They hate our freedom”, but we should at least be aware that this happened.

My review of the Toronto Airport Hilton
It does not have a hot tub. I don’t understand.  The free drinks are alright, though.

How I know we're safe
So good news, fellow Canadians!  We have a new Chief of the Air Force, Yvan Blondin.  Does he have any battle experience?  No.  Has he even led one of the wings of the air force?  No.  But what qualifications does he have?  He is a strong supporter of Harper’s questionable contract award for the construction of some new fighters that are already extravagantly over budget and do not even meet...

I was having a discussion today about male pattern baldness, and was re-living my favourite comb-over that I’ve ever seen: the only tuft of hair on this fellow’s head was at the front, sort of the last hold out of a widow’s peak.  However, he had grown this piece super long and combed it back over his entire head. I loved it.  However, I just learned that, in Ukraine, this is a...
